Gambling Lessons and Life Lessons are Often One and the Same

I’ve stated before that the greatest success I had as a gambler had nothing to do with monetary achievement. Sure, it was nice to win money at the expense of the casino, but the life lessons that were taught throughout my journey were much more than money could buy.

What you put into gambling is often what you get out of it, much the same as all aspects of life. Every day I see hundreds of Google searches from across the world for keywords such as “easy way to beat the casino” or “how to beat slot machines.” People scour the internet for the easy way to make millions from the casino. They truly believe there is some “secret system” out there that will guarantee to change their life financially with very little effort on their part. No matter how many times I say it, still people are being scammed everyday into believing that a secret gambling system that will guarantee to win you thousands of dollars does exist.

If you are a longtime reader of my blog, you know that I try to simplify many of the gambling techniques that can improve your odds of success. In fact, you can reduce the house advantage to less than 1% without having to know very much at all, but this is a far cry from the guarantee of winning millions.

As with most endeavors in life, I’ve found true long-term gambling success is obtained through hard work, discipline, and dedication. In order to truly gain an advantage over the casino you must adhere to strict rules, memorize lots of information, and keep the casino from kicking you out.

For those that continue to look for the gambling secret system, I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news but it doesn’t exist. What I want the average gambler to know is that having a little self-discipline and making a few minor changes, their chances of success can be enhanced dramatically, and that is why I wrote my latest book, How to Win at Gambling: Easiest Methods for Recreational Gamblers. There are no guarantees of winning millions, but this book will show you how you can make a few simple changes and get the casino’s advantage close to 0%. That is pretty amazing considering many slots have a 10-15% house edge.

How to win at gambling

If someone wants to take it even further to the level of a professional gambler there is nothing easy about it. It can be done, but sacrifice and discipline are required and even that doesn’t guarantee success.

What I did affirm along the way is the lesson we are often taught as children, hard work is generally rewarded. Beyond that the “hard work” doesn’t have to be a negative thing, people often associate hard work with pain and misery that’s where the true lesson was learned. If you are passionate about your endeavor the work doesn’t feel like work at all, in fact it feels more like recreation.

Unfortunately, to be a successful gambler, unless you get lucky and hit the Mega-Millions or the lottery, you do have to work hard, but the good news is that work can be enjoyable. Find work that you enjoy and watch your life become more fulfilled than you could ever imagine.

About Greg Elder

I was 37 years old, a husband and father, a former teacher, college and high school basketball coach, and a business owner, I decided to give it all up (Not the husband and father part) to take a shot at pro gambling. I was coming off a job I hated selling insurance, and I vowed to do something I was passionate about. For the next year I would spend 12-15 hours a day researching, studying, and practicing advantage gambling techniques. The goal was to see if I could sustain our current lifestyle as a professional gambler. I wanted to find out if casinos really could be beat. At the time, I thought it may be the biggest mistake of my life, but my intentions were to have fun trying. It has been an interesting few years since that journey began. My feature book GAMBLERS FIGHT BACK has been released and can be purchased on my author site at www.GREGELDERAUTHOR.com I would consider my pro gambling career to be a success on all fronts. I didn't win millions of dollars, but I was able to enjoy every minute of it. It brought an excitement and passion back into my professional life. It has helped lead me to a writing career that I had no idea I even wanted before this challenge. I was able to write a book that shared with others exactly what I learned along the way.. Gambling professionally is not easy, but there are certain things the average gambler can do to increase their chances of success tremendously. That's the information I try to pass along to my readers.
