Gambling has long been associated with “Lady Luck.” Lucky people win money when they gamble, unlucky people lose. That’s a common myth that is often perpetuated to encourage reckless gambling. Gambling without knowledge most often leads to financial loss. As a gambler, it is your job to acquire as much knowledge and skill about any casino games you play. You want to try and remove as much of the “luck factor” as possible. Casino games will always have elements of chance, but it is time for you to look at the games from another perspective.
TheFreeDictionary.com defines gambling as, “To play a game of chance for stakes (money).”
- There are several games in the casino that can be played with a high degree of skill. This decreases the role of chance. Every game in the casino has been setup with an advantage for “the house” (casino). What if I told you there were ways to decrease the house advantage and have an edge over the casino? That may seem like fiction often displayed in Hollywood movies, but it is a reality. I would be the first one to tell you that consistently winning substantial amounts of money at the casino’s expense is not easy. I would also tell you that lowering their advantage to a minimal amount is not as difficult as you might think.
Gambling success has long been perceived as this illusive complex endeavor that only geniuses can master, or something that requires being born with the “lucky gene.” In reality, most of it involves simple rote memorization. Rote memorization is the same form of learning you used when you learned your times tables. You no longer have to understand the underlying mathematics behind each of the games. Most of the complex mathematical equations that determine your fate have already been done for you. Your job is to essentially memorize the answers.
- When you are dealt a 13 versus a dealer’s up card of 6 in the game of blackjack, you don’t turn to the Gods of gambling for answers on what to do. You don’t rub your Magic 8-ball seeking guidance. Hopefully, you have taken the time to memorize the proper play and allow the statistics of the game to take its course. I could take the time to explain the mathematics behind this decision, but wouldn’t you rather just memorize the fact that you should stand?
This is just one of the many examples of the techniques that you will be taught in my latest gambling book: A Winning Gambling Strategy…And How To Get It! I don’t want you to get bogged down in complex formulas. I want you to be able to obtain the information you need as quickly and proficiently as possible. It is your job to then take this newly acquired information and use it in the real world setting of the casino.
